Site Updates

Added a couple more microbar buttons.
Publishing "linux, year 1" – an essay two parallel essays we wrote for the anniversary of our first running Linux.
Tiny update: added note on lossless WebP to original 32 kib post.
Added a new section for Dietlinde's Sword, a fantasy journalling game and a couple post-game snippets of story it inspired.
Small links update: homebrew computing flavor. Specifically Blondihacks, Ben Eater, and James Sharman.
Added Atom feed and page about Atom feed.
Added site updates section.
Implemented adaptive site themes. The default style now uses a new colors.css file which selects between the Glider and Firefly themes based on browser prefers-color-scheme setting.
All four site themes are now available as alternative style sheets in compatible browsers (e.g. Firefox).

About

This website exists because sometimes we write a post, but it's not a fedi post we should post on a fediversated mastodon and it's not a blog post which we should post on a livejournal-like dreamwidth, it's a post that should be a webpage on a dedicated website instead.

These posts are all written by Packbats, members of the Packbat plural system. Collectively, we know an erratic amount of things about a lot of subjects, like PICO-8, Toki Pona, and how to do basic arithmetic by hand. Individually, we try to exist, but figuring out how to exist when you were taught that your existence is impossible is … a challenge.

If you want to support us financially, thepackbats on ko-fi and packbat on patreon will both work. If you want to play our games, packbat on itch.io is the place. If you want to prove that electronic mail is good, actually, then Yahoo can forward along any messages you send to umpelty there.

If you want to link here, we made a button, but TERFs, SWERFs, Nazis, and channers, fuck off.

A black button that says "I love PICO-8". nena pi loje pimeja li toki e ni: "mi toki lon toki pona". An pale orange button with a purple circular emblem on it and "packbat itch io" written in cursive. A pink button with the indiepocalypse.social mascot (Quon) - a blue-skinned blue-haired dragon lady with glasses - making a vee with one hand next to the instance name and Mastodon wordmark. A button colored with four pride flags: nonbinary (yellow-white-purple-black), black trans (blue-pink-black-pink-blue), asexual (black-gray-white-purple), and aromantic (green-green-white-gray-black). A blue button with the interlocking-circles plurality symbol, saying "Plural Pride" in loopy letters. A light blue button with a picture of a cat saying "never by ai!". A gray button with a crossed-out computer on fire saying "This is an Anti-NFT Site". A gray button that says "hand-crafted <html>", with a bunch of little html tags in the background. A blue button that says "No Animations Included", with a blink tag that has a red circle with a slash through it on top. A dark blue button that says "$ robots.txt". A white button with an atom logo that says "atom+xml".

A button of purple sky over a city skyline, with "xyzzyzzyzx" written on it in drippy green letters. A paper-white button with dots down each side that says "nora.codes" in all-caps and has a diagonal tricolor stripe - red-white-blue - crossing behind the words. A button with a black-and-purple pattern of abstract blobs, and "mimuki.net" written in white on top in a cool pixel font. A button saying "pet this mouse..." with a little anthro mouse getting headpats. It says viscountexx.buzz at the bottom. A button with a pink-haired green dragon peeking up from the bottom, tail and head poking up over the edge. Cartoon text above announces "It's Rezzy".

A gray sticker of a cat holding a brush and a wrench, with the text "hosted by neocities".
